MEMORIAL/DIRECT CREMATION CEREMONIES

Direct cremation is on the increase these days as costs continue to rise.

But what if you really did want to give your loved one a memorable send off, but just felt it wasn’t financially viable? Then you need a memorial ceremony. An opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects after the loss of a loved one.

A memorial ceremony is often seen as a celebration of a loved one’s life and can be very important for the bereaved.

Having trained as an independent civil celebrant with experience of planning and officiating at many funeral services and celebrations of life. I find families/friends who have lost a loved one are now looking for an alternative, more personal and affordable ceremony that can take place after the initial direct cremation in a venue and at a time to suit them. This could be in their home, a pub, a local hall, a garden – pretty much anywhere.

Following an initial meeting to discuss the ceremony you would like for your loved one, I will then source music, readings etc. You will have the chance to read the first draft of your unique, bespoke ceremony and add or amend the content until you are happy with it. Then on the agreed date to suit you, I will come along with everything necessary to take the ceremony for you at your chosen location.

A free bound copy of the ceremony will be available to you on the day.
